This book is great for those in recovery with NA. It touches on many concepts and areas of our lives that the basic text doesn't go into the detail on. That is why it is called the basic text. This goes into some specifics on important aspects.

The book explains the process of not only early recovery ideas and mindset but also the change that addicts go through when realizing that the world and their lives are far from the way it once appeared to them. The book would be understood primarily by addicts seeing as you need experience in this area to fully understand how that is perceived. Stunning someone's growth and maturity early in their life and reintroducing reality after many years creates a unique feeling that can be powerful late...more

“Each time we surrender, we find once more that the desperation that drives us to our knees fuels the passion that carries us forward. When hope manifests into reality, our lives change. Our experience affirms what we believe, and belief grows into faith. When our faith grows into knowledge, the program that we once struggled to practice has become part of who we are. We find here what we were looking for all along: connection to others, connection to a Higher Power, connection to the world around us—and, most surprising of all, connection to ourselves.” — 13 likes
“It’s hard to spot a spiritual crisis: Usually it is disguised as a crisis in our relationships, finances, career, or family.” — 11 likes
