I currently have a licensed copy of AutoCAD LT 2008 on my machine, but in a recent clearout the product CD (with the serial number on it) was thrown out.
What is the best way to recover this serial?

Use the ABOUT command in Autocad to bring up the about window which should show your serial. Alternatively try one of many key finder programs which will pull it from the registry.
Normally it is also baked into the registry as a string value called SerialNumber under:
Replace variables accordingly.

Note: A borrowed license is tied to theMAC address of thenetwork adapter that was in use when the license was initiallyborrowed. If your laptop is connected to a docking station, and youwill not be using that docking station after borrowing the license,undock the laptop first and then reconnect to the network toborrow the license.
- Launch the Borrow a License window in one ofthe following ways:
- Click Tools menu > LicenseBorrowing > Borrow License.

- Enter the BORROWLICENSE command.
- In the Borrow a License window, on thecalendar, click the date when you want to return thelicense. This date must be within the valid date range set byyour network administrator. The valid date range is displayed inthis window.

How To Check Your Autocad License
