Hexagon AB acquired ERDAS[when?][citation needed] a company that launched in 1978.[3] ERDAS developed various products to process satellite imagery from AVHRR, Landsat MSS and TM, and Spot Image into land cover, land use maps, map deforestation, and assist in locating oil reserves.[4]
In February 2017, the company acquired United States CAE company MSC Software.[5]
