Adobe Air Package Is Damaged

The issue is not Adobe AIR per say. But Adobe CS5.5 which has a packaged AIR inside the package. CS5.5 has been downloaded from Adobe site (and re-downloaded 2 weeks ago and still same issue). When installing CS5.5 there is AIR applications INSIDE 5.5 installation which fails because their sign in is old. Now how can I fix this? Adobe AIR applications installation issue. This technote addresses the installation issue of Adobe AIR applications after 30 th Oct 2017 that is signed with SHA1 certificate. It is applicable to both Windows and Mac. Use the command below to re-package the AIR application with a new certificate.

When you try to update the Adobe Help application (also called the Community Help application), the following installation error occurs:

  1. Make sure that you have the latest version of the Adobe AIR runtime. If you are not sure, download the latest version.
  2. Uninstall the previous version of Adobe Help:

    Windows:
    Use the Add Or Remove Programs utility.
    Mac OS: Drag the application from the Applications/Adobe folder to the Trash.
  3. Delete the following directory:
    Windows: %appdata%/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1

    Tip:
    To find this directory in Windows, copy the preceding phrase into the Windows Explorer file manager.

    Mac OS:
    /[user name]/Library/Preferences/chc.4875E02D9FB21EE389F73B8D1702B320485DF8CE.1

    Note:

    As an extra precaution, Adobe recommends deleting the local, downloaded content at the following locations as well:

    Windows : C:UsersPublicDocumentsAdobe (Help and PDF directories within)

    Mac : UsersSharedDocumentsAdobe (Help and PDF directories within)

  4. Empty the Trash (Mac OS) or Recycling Bin (Windows).
  5. Manually update the application at http://www.adobe.com/support/chc/.

The Adobe Help application is built and managed using the Adobe AIR framework. Because Adobe AIR has its own installation and uninstallation procedures, Adobe Help application updates are independent of the Creative Suite installers. There is no need to uninstall the entire Creative Suite or any associated product to resolve this issue.
